Biography
Leyla Kaptanoglu was born in 2005 into the arms of immensely supportive parents, who taught her and her sisters to always dream big and break the barriers of their comfort zones.
Since she can remember, Kaptanoglu was fascinated by creative writing. She wrote her first story in caricature form, when she was in first grade. She is a born-to-be storyteller who is always looking for another way to voice her stories to the world. From magazine articles to poetry to narrative writing and screenplay, she works on many formats to broaden her perspective and knowledge.
Leyla Kaptanoglu is a young creative mind who doesn’t limit herself to one structure of work. After her four year length experience in theatre, she gained the skill of being able
to work comfortably on and offstage. She is interested in various fields; from fashion to journalism to cinema and television; she constantly pushes herself to become the best version of herself in every project she takes on.
Kaptanoglu produced her first short film when she was sixteen. She conducted a short documentary called “Ideal”, which is about the hardship of being a ballerina and dealing with impossible beauty standards set for women. She is determined to produce more films which she writes and directs.
Singing, painting, stargazing through her telescope, doing pilates and playing tennis are among the activities she participates in her daily life. She spends most of her time with her family and close friends. Kaptanoglu believes that taking part in colorful hobbies and having trusting relationships provides limitless inspiration and adds meaning to her life.
After working in her high school newspaper for two years as the editor-in-chief and having a deep personal dedication towards writing, she decided to pursue Magazine Journalism in university level, while working on her newest project, “Leyla ile Mecmua” which is a new age online journalism page for magazine readers across the globe.
Leyla Kaptanoglu plans to dedicate her life to being creative and continue to passionately create art.
